ince 1991 the volunteers of Emergency Support Service have been running support operations in the form of incident rehab including fluids, food and hygiene along with refilling breathing apparatus on the scene of major emergency incidents in all of Johnson County and even in the surrounding counties! Throughout the years we’ve operated out of a private residence. Our specially equipped response units sit out in the elements 24 hours a day seven days a week. Being exposed to the elements like that increases our maintenance and repair cost to keep our trucks in service. In 2024 Johnson County Emergency Services District #1 generously bought a new truck to be built and for us to use in our operations! The time has come, the new Truck has started production and should be completed by the end of the year! However, we still need a place to put the unit to protect it from the elements. We have acquired a piece of property, the donation of a lease to build our future home. We have come up with a small design of about 52 foot wide by 50 foot deep building which will house our equipment and all the other items such as ice machine, freezers, refrigerators that we need to keep our how operation ready for service. This Station will also serve as a training base for our volunteers and community, enable us to hold recruiting drives and events. We’ve explored many avenues of funding and decided that this is the best option for us to finish this project. Attached to this post you’ll find a link and even a QR code where you can help make this future project become a reality this year! We are asking each one of you if you donate to our cause and then share this to all your friends on your social media platforms and your email list would be grateful! Your donations are not only be appreciated by our volunteers, but also all the first responders whom we serve!
